About Us

Our Beginning

Shiloh began in Fall 1976 as a ministry of the First Baptist Church of Springdale, Arkansas, under the leadership of Pastor Cliff Palmer. Mr. Oakley Long was the first superintendent.

We started with fifteen teachers and staff, and 180 students from kindergarten-sixth grade. We added a new grade each successive year. Twelve students graduated in our first high school class in 1983.

New Location

In 1979, FBC-Springdale relocated from downtown to Johnson Road. Shiloh moved with the church.

As the church continued to expand, Shiloh benefited with more classrooms, a large Worship Center, a 1,400 seat basketball facility, sports training facilities, band and choir rooms and a football stadium.

Continued FBCS Support

Tuition and fees comprise most of our operating income. FBC Springdale has never charged the school for using the facilities and utilities, valued today at over a million dollars annually. FBCS also budgets funds to subsidize the school operations as needed.

Accreditation

Shiloh received its first accreditation in 1992 by ACSI. In 2006, we were accredited by ACSI, ANSSA and North Central Association.

Shiloh Today

Mr. Ben Mayes serves as Interim President. He is dedicated to seeing Shiloh students reach their world for Jesus Christ. Shiloh serves over 750 students from pre-kindergarten through 12th grade.

About half of the student body are members of FBC-Springdale and The Church at Pinnacle Hills. The remainder represent over fifty other churches from various denominations.

We have 50 full and part-time degreed and certified professionals. All the employees must be professing born-again Christians and active members of either FBCS or CPH (the north campus of FBCS).

Full-time Shiloh employees with school-age children are required to send them to Shiloh. This gives the employees a vested interest in the success of the school. The Board provides full tuition waivers for these children, a major incentive for employees.

Shiloh is a strong and viable Christian ministry. We prepare students for the challenges of the 21st century. We offer challenging Step-Ahead and Advanced Placement classes, championship athletic teams, exemplary fine-arts programs, and service to God's Kingdom.

Shiloh students receive a well-rounded education in a distinctly Christian environment. Everyone at Shiloh Christian looks forward with great anticipation for the future and what God has planned for us.
