Over the last four years on average, 99% of our students pursue higher education. Many make the President's List or the Dean's List. In the last four years, $2,483,373 in scholarships were awarded to 135 different students.
What are the plans to enhance Shiloh's academics?
While exceeding the national academic averages, we strive to continually improve. We believe wise hiring by the Leadership Team brings in teachers who are leaders in their field. We study other academically successful schools to learn how to improve. We continue to explore ways to use technology that enhances academic studies.
Why is the football program of Shiloh Christian School so successful?
Since the inception of our football program, our coaches have been great leaders. As they developed the program, it became a great success. People support what they enjoy and what they love. Shiloh has been blessed with great community of supporters and fans.
How are Shiloh's athletic programs funded?
Entirely by athletic fees, ticket sales, special gifts and sponsors of the program. No tuition has ever gone toward the operation of athletic programs.
Why was debt incurred for the football field? What is the plan to retire this debt?
After the football program grew, we began to play at a higher level of competition. We moved up to a different level of conference play and fan support. Facility expansion was needed. The plan has always been to pay off this debt from expanded ticket sales, fund raising and special gifts.
How much money has been given to the endowed chairs and how have these funds been spent?
$44,500 has been given. None has been spent, due to restrictions on the gifts.
Do we have an annual audit?
Shiloh Christian School is audited annually by Ervin and Co., Certified Public Accountants. We are a member of the Evangelical Council for Financial Accountability. This further ensures we maintain the highest standard of financial integrity.
What are the steps to express either a grievance or a concern about my child or the school?
1. Approach the teacher about the issue, if applicable.
2. If not satisfied, appeal in writing or in person to the Dean of the school.
3. If satisfaction still has not occurred, make a final appeal to the President.
4. Participate in surveys, Parent Teacher Conferences, Parent Teacher Fellowships and in other forums given you by the school to express your concerns and share in the school's success.
Do you have a non-discriminatory policy?
Shiloh Christian School admits students of any race, color, national and ethnic origin to all the rights, privileges, programs and activities generally accorded or made available to students at the school. It does not discriminate on the basis of race, color, national and ethnic origin in administration of its educational policies, admissions policies, scholarship and loan programs, and athletic and other school-administered programs.
What qualifications and qualities do you look for in faculty and staff?
We seek to employ growing Christians being led by the Holy Spirit, who are excellent in their subject area. We desire for our faculty to be Christian leaders by being godly role models to students, colleagues, their church and community.
What is the hiring process? How often are employees reviewed?
Employees are hired or rehired by our Board of Trustees, upon the recommendation of our Leadership Team. The Leadership Team consists of the Interim President/Business Administrator, Athletic Director, Elementary Dean, Secondary Dean and Director of Admissions/Marketing.
The Deans, Athletic Director and Director of Admissions/Marketing serve at the will of the Interim President. He reviews them annually.
Are all teachers and staff required to be members of First Baptist Church of Springdale or The Church at Pinnacle Hills?
Yes, unless grandfathered in when the policy was started. We believe this ensures consistency in theological and doctrinal issues as Shiloh Christian School is a ministry of FBC-Springdale/CPH. This provides accountability for active church membership, which should be the model for any Christian leader.
How is Shiloh Christian School funded?
Shiloh Christian School is funded by student tuition, fees, special gifts. We also receive support from First Baptist Church of Springdale (estimated annual amount of $1,016,509).
How does FBC-Springdale financially support Shiloh?
Through the years, First Baptist Church has given millions of dollars to this ministry through non-charge use of its facilities and utilities. Therefore, FBC-Springdale is subsidizing the tuition of Shiloh Christian students by an estimated annual amount of $1,016,509 through the provision of facilities. FBCS also gives annual cash gifts during budget shortfalls
