Passion Week at Cross Church

March 25th, 2013

passion week headerIn the eight days between Palm Sunday and Easter Sunday, Cross Church will be hosting a number of events that will mark, with great reverence, the death, burial, and resurrection of Jesus Christ. We are calling this week Passion Week: The Final Week in the Life of Jesus Christ. During Passion Week, together as a Cross Church family, we will walk through the final days of Jesus? life.

These eight days will be powerful and unique, unlike anything Cross Church has ever done to celebrate our risen King. All Passion Week events begin Palm Sunday morning, March 24, and continue through Sunday, March 31, which is Easter Sunday.

Passion Week Schedule:

Monday, March 25 ? Good Friday, March 29:

Passion Week Luncheons at our Cross Church Pinnacle Hills campus. Join us from 11:50 a.m. ? 12:50 p.m. for lunch, worship, and a message that will highlight a key moment in the final week of Christ. Each day will hold a new message, so please attend as many luncheons as you can. This is a prime opportunity to invite a co-worker or neighbor to hear from our ministry team about the significance of the death and resurrection of Christ. Lunch will cost $5 per person. Daily topics are listed below:

  • Monday, March 25: ?The Garden of Gethsemane: Jesus Christ Preparing to Die? from Matthew 26:36?46
  • Tuesday, March 26: ?The Betrayal of Judas and the Kiss of Death? from Matthew 26:17?25, 46?56; 27:3?10
  • Wednesday, March 27: ?The Denials of Peter and his Deep Regret? from Matthew 26:31?35, 69?75
  • Thursday, March 28: ?The Scourging of Jesus Christ and the Final Hours Before His Death? from Matthew 26:57?68; 27:1?2, 11?32
  • Friday, March 29: ?The Crucifixion and The Death of Jesus Christ? from Matthew 27:33?56

Friday Evening, March 29:

The Cross Church Worship Ministry, with the Symphony of Northwest Arkansas (SoNA), will present "Reflecting on the Death of Jesus Christ." This will be a powerful evening of music, worship, and reflection at our Pinnacle Hills campus. An event highlights will be the performance of the classical masterpiece "Adagio for Strings" by Samuel Barber.

Concert starts at 7 p.m. and admission is FREE. We will have Childcare for birth - 5th grade. Much like our Christmas event, this event provides an ideal opportunity to invite your friends and family to an evening focused on one thing - commemorating the life of Jesus Christ. Click here for more information about this night.
