Sept 22: @ 8:15 Moms in Touch in FG160 Sept 25: Grandparent Day (Dismissal @ 11:00, No extended care.) If you forgot to bring your cookie dough order, please bring it on Monday. We will count the orders then. Chapel-Compassion-It means suffer together. This week we learned how Aristarchus suffered with Paul. As a compassion project and with the ACTS 1:8 conference, we are going to collect an offering for orphans in Malawi. Students may bring pennies, nickels, dimes, and quarters. I would really like to see our children show compassion through the offering. For example, they may arrange to work for you or a neighbor to earn money for their offering, it may be a gift that comes from their savings for a special toy or it could be they prepare a sack lunch next week and give their lunch money. The students will vote for where the money should go….to purchase Bibles, a bike, blankets, goats, or schooling. Next week, I will update the blog before Thursday, so the students will know where the money is going. Imagine 1,000,000,000 orphans. Surely we can give something to reach 100 orphans for Jesus. Grandparent Day-I encourage you to come to Grandparent Day. We will meet in the Worship Center at 9:00 for “The Wonder Wisdom of God” which is a play off of “The Wizard of Oz”. Do you remember the first time you saw “The Wizard of Oz”? I do. It was a Sunday afternoon and I remember thinking how do they know Dorothy has red shoes as we adjusted our antennae for our black and white TV. Whether you remember the story or not, you will be amazed at the talent of our 3rd graders as they present this program. Elementary school will be dismissed at 11:00, so our children can spend time with relatives from out of town. |
