Foley’s Facts-October 16 print email

Kindness—Our K4 students reminded us this week that even a child is known by his actions. (Proverbs 20:11)

Thanks for the candies for soldiers.

The Shiloh GME team will be traveling to the Asia at the end of October. The elementary students will be getting a prayer card to mark as they pray for each member of the team. In class, they will be decorating or writing encouraging verse to be added to a send-off snack pack. It is always a privilege to pray for these students. We hope they will be able to attend one of our chapels when they return and tell us about GME trips.

Cookie Dough

Congratulations to our top sellers—Shelby Stanberry, Kaitlyn Franzke, and Trevor Rice.

October 29th will be pick up day. We will be set up in Kidz Theatre. Please park west of the theatre and we will have a door open for you to use. (Remember, K4 dismissal will be from 3:00-3:15. It will be impossible to park under the white awning at that time.)

Thank you for making cookie dough such a success. We raised $18, 150 for the school. Over two hundred students qualified for the limo ride. You will receive more information about the mega party and limo rides as soon as dates are secured.

A Note from Mrs. Miller:

BRUSH STROKES

What a great start to our year in art! The students are working hard. They have worked on LINE and COLOR so far. The artists we have learned about are Van Gogh and Renoir.

The younger children are wearing plastic aprons when they paint, but accidents do happen. The tempera paint we use does not come out easily, I know. Please forgive our messes!

We will begin to work on composition with the older grades, and texture with the first thru third. The month of October we will talk about another artist: “Grandma Moses”. If you can find any information to send in or copies of her work, please do.

Some have asked about supplies – some things you can send in now are: bars of white soap, Clorox or baby wipes, cool melt glue sticks for glue guns, seeds or beans, lentils, etc and macaroni. Things to save for later: shoe boxes, paper towel cardboards, pieces of cardboard - any size and scraps of Christmas wrapping paper.
