Foley’s Facts-November 6 print email

5th Grade Science Retreat--We have a great group of fifth graders. Parents, you should be proud of their curiosity to learn new things. I enjoyed fishing, collecting water varmints, and going on the screamer with them. Thanks to Kevin for driving the bus, to the dads for counting to make sure we were all there, to the excellent staff at NLR, and to our teachers who had us well prepared!

Preschool--Many of you may not realize that our preschool teachers have been diligently working to incorporate research-based best practices our preschool program. If you walk down our halls and peek inside, you will see “art” that teaches spatial relationships and vocabulary, strengthens fine motor, and increases listening and following directions. You can’t see the development of a strong phonemic awareness program, but in the years to come, our students will be much better readers because to this addition to our phonics classes. Our classes are full again this year and I think it is because the word is out. We are preparing students for kindergarten.

Boxtop Winner—Miss Tollett’s Class won with 418 boxtops. Congratulations!
