Summer Reading

May 15th, 2013

Rationale for Summer Reading:

A growing amount of academic research today shows that many students engage in learning loss over the summer when the formal school year ends. To help prevent this loss, Shiloh Christian School requires students to read over the summer months, all the while developing certain traits we desire to further in our students, such as critical thinking skills and an active imagination. More importantly, we do summer reading, because as a Christian school, we know that language is central to Christianity, since God chose to reveal Himself through His written Word.
