Ninety percent of the students (K4-5th) participated in the pig races because they read 6 or more different genre of books. Mrs. Vinson’s class was recognized for collecting the most AR points over a 24-hour period. Woo! Pigs! Sooie!
Odds and Ends
Lost and Found will be given to a charity on December 19th. PTF will organize the items on tables the week of December 15th. Please stop by and look through the items.
PTF provides childcare for a small fee and your convenience for class parties. Please return childcare forms in the envelopes for the Christmas parties by December 12th. Younger siblings may not attend parties for safety reasons.
Students’ shirts must be long enough to tuck in, particularly, if they choose to wear the low-rider style of jeans.
Teachers will be collecting email addresses beginning the first week in January. We hope to have all newsletters emailed to you starting the first of February. This will save paper, time printing and our copier. If you do not have access to email, please let your teacher know.

Once again, God has blessed our week.
- Again this week, I have had the opportunity to visit in classrooms. I’m thrilled with the high caliber of Christian teachers God has provided for our children.
- Over 400 shoes have been delivered to the Salvation Army. You can donate shoes through November 24th.
- Since Mrs. Darr is at a music conference, Miss Tollett led the worship portion of chapel. Ask your child how he can be a wrasse-a small fish which meets the needs of other fish.
- GT completed their unit with a Shoe Show on Friday along with Popcorn/Coke Day.
At look at the next week:
- Directories are in. You may pick it up in the elementary office.
- Sweatshirts arrived. We ordered hundreds. (It seemed like hundreds.) Please put your child’s name on the tag.
- Book Fair will be in FG 166 (Toon Town). You may purchase books beginning Monday afternoon until 4:00.
- Kindergarten will perform on November 20th in the Worship Center @ 8:30pm.
Look for more details about "Hog Wild Days" in next Friday’s newsletters!
- Class will do "Book Talks" with their favorite book on Monday and Tuesday.
- November 24-Razorback Day (Wear your razorback gear.) We will focus on reading two days before Thanksgiving.
- November 25-Pillow Day (Wear Friday dress code and bring your pillow with 2-3 books to read.)
December Mission Project-Students will choose something to put in a shoebox for a nursing home patient. More details at chapel in December.
Please do not drop your child off after 8:15 on the south side of the building. All doors are locked at 8:15.
I probably won’t blog next week, so from the Foley family–Happy Thanksgiving and Go, Saints, Go!

Miscellaneous Thoughts:
Our fifth graders had the opportunity to minister at the Samaritan House in Rogers, G/T classes visited a shoe factory in Clarksville, and third graders received a dictionary from the Springdale Rotary.
I’ve been teaching in Mrs. Tanksley’s first grade class completing coursework for a reading class I began in the summer. As teachers, we love to see the light go on when students understand or make connections from their reading to real life. Thank you for trusting us to teach your children from a biblical perspective.
Last week, I put together a schedule of events for November. First, I regret that I did not include the purity meeting for parents of fifth graders. If you missed the meeting, please stop by the nurses’ office and you can preview the video which your child will see on November 25th with a written permission from you the parent. Secondly, please add family night at Quiznos on November 20th.
Chapel–Be a Difference Maker
Our chapels for the second nine weeks will focus on making a difference. Students can be a dolphin or a shark depending on how we treat those who are around us. K4 students quoted Proverbs 20:11. Everyone is known by their actions. In order to make a difference for others, students will need to act like a dolphin–helpful to those around them. We looked at Ruth 2 to find our biblical example. Boaz’s actions were kind and considerate. My challenge to each person at chapel was to be a dolphin.
Keep sending gently used shoes.
Keep sending plastic bags.
Keep collecting boxtops for education, Tyson labels, Nestle’s water bottle labels, and ink cartridges.
