Students in grades 6–12 at Shiloh Christian School are required to study one subject in each of the core areas each year: English, mathematics, science, history, and Christian Studies. In grades 9–12, two years of foreign language, one year of both arts and technology, and one semester each of health and speech are required for graduation. Advanced Placement and Step Ahead college courses are available in English, mathematics, science, history, and literature. Students are selected for these courses on the basis of their intellectual curiosity, proficiency, and willingness to study independently. At Shiloh, there is a directed and determined effort to encourage and motivate each student to perform at as high a level as the student can manage. Students participate in the process of choosing their courses, with their opinions and desires assuming a progressively larger role as they near completion of the high school years.
