North Little Rock, AR- The Arkansas Activities Association announced today the formation of the

AAA Big Red Student Advisory Council.

The council consists of one student from each of the AAA’s nine activity districts. The diverse

council consists of students from 1A to 7A with a wide range of activities and athletic

involvement. Students sent in applications that were accompanied by a letter of

recommendation from a school administrator.

“Our selection committee had a very difficult time selecting nine from the almost 50 qualified

applicants we received,” said Steve Roberts, Associate Executive Director of the AAA. “It is very

evident we have some outstanding young people in our schools. The council will meet each

semester to provide student participation feedback, promote student participation engagement,

learn about the AAA as an organization, and engage in leadership activities. The council will

travel every summer to Indianapolis, Indiana to attend the NFHS National Student Leadership

Summit.
