Shiloh has had a dynamic musical theater program for many years, and for 13 years it has been under the direction of Kim Darr.  Since 2005, Mrs. Darr has served to create exciting and excellent annual programs with elementary students including: The Kindergarten Round-Up, Grandparent’s Day for 3rd grade, Banner Chapel for 5th grade, the 4th Grade Patriotic Program, Christmas Chapel, the 5th Grade Musical, and now under her new position as Director of the Arts, Kim will take on a Secondary Fall Musical.  She integrates Biblical truths and stories into many of the shows, and she writes scripts or re-writes lyrics when the material calls for it.

The value of music and theater for kids is immeasurable. A few of the benefits for students that Mrs. Darr mentioned include learning musical theory and rhythm, building confidence, learning to read music, working hard, achieving a goal, working as a team, developing memorization skills, feeling a sense of accomplishment, and mastering stage presence and acting/singing. Shiloh students have and incredible opportunity to gain valuable life skills that they will take with them when they graduate through this exceptional Musical Theater program.

Thank you for serving Shiloh Christian and creating brilliant, musical theater performances, Mrs. Darr!
